Glacier National Park Announces Reopening of the Alpine Sections

WEST GLACIER, Mont. – Going-to-the-Sun Road has reopened after park officials made the proactive decision to close it at 5 p.m. on September 6, 2026, due to heavy rain and possible rockfall that made the road susceptible to flooding and mudslides.
