July 29 North Cascades Fires Update
July 29, 2026 · Source: National Park Service
Yesterday, fire activity increased on the Border 2 Fire (approx. 2,500 acres). A westerly flow is pushing the fire to the east and northeast. The edge of the fire is within .25 miles of the northern structures nearest to the US/Canada border in Hozomeen. Firefighters used aerial delivered water support by Air Attack and four Scoopers to slow fire progression to the west. Warm and dry weather conditions are expected through Friday.
