The renovated South Broadway building now houses park services, while its new hydrotherapy exhibit is beginning with a limited weekend schedule.

Official announcement: New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation · October 1, 2026

New York has reopened the Lincoln Bathhouse with a different role for arriving visitors: a place to get park information and explore Saratoga’s mineral-water history. The park office and gift store have moved into the building at 65 South Broadway, according to the state parks agency’s October 1 announcement.

The Saratoga Museum of Hydrotherapy occupies an original wing of the bathhouse. The exhibit places historic treatment equipment in the building where visitors once sought mineral-water therapies. Its displays include ceramic tubs and a General Electric X-ray machine from the 1930s.

Work outside the building changed the approach as well as the destination inside. New paths, ramps, crossings and expanded accessible parking accompany the indoor welcome hall. The agency describes the renovated building as fully ADA accessible.

What Travelers Need to Know

For a museum visit, the weekend schedule matters more than the welcome center’s daily hours. The announced preview runs Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., beginning October 10–11, with guided tours at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The park’s current notice lists the Lincoln Bathhouse welcome center and the retained reception area at 19 Roosevelt Drive as open daily, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. The notice confirms parking and restrooms. The museum release does not specify admission charges or reservation requirements; confirm those details and continued preview hours with the park at 518-584-2000 before making a museum-specific trip.

About the Location

Saratoga Spa State Park is in Saratoga Springs, New York, where mineral springs helped shape a destination long before today’s museums and recreation facilities. The state’s mineral-springs guide explains that bathing and drinking the waters became popular in the nineteenth century. Commercial gas extraction later reduced the flow of many springs, prompting state anti-pumping legislation in 1908 and the creation of a reservation to protect them. The formally planned New Spa opened in 1935.

Today, the park combines a National Historic Landmark landscape with cultural venues, walking trails and springs. The reopening gives that history a dedicated indoor stop alongside the park’s springs and recreation grounds, rather than leaving the bathhouse solely as an architectural backdrop.
