Six Flags Great Adventure has set three November operating milestones at its Jackson, New Jersey, complex. Wild Safari will finish its 2026 season on Sunday, November 8; the theme park will offer a military-admission program November 14-15; and Holiday in the Park will open to the general public November 21 after a passholder preview the previous evening.

The park is operating an extended Thursday-through-Sunday window from November 5 to 8, which gives visitors four final days to use Wild Safari before its seasonal closure. Six Flags says the Jersey Devil Coaster will continue running through November 15, while El Toro, Runaway Train, Medusa and Nitro have already ended their 2026 operations.

On November 14 and 15, active-duty and retired United States military members and veterans may receive one complimentary single-day admission ticket. To claim it, participants must show accepted military or veteran credentials when they enter; the offer is for one of the two dates, not an unrestricted two-day pass.

Holiday in the Park then begins on select dates November 21 and runs into early January. A November 20 preview is limited to season passholders, and the attraction says food, drinks, merchandise and some experiences cost extra even when the holiday program is included with park admission.

What Travelers Need to Know

Travelers planning a Wild Safari visit should book the date they intend to use and check the live operating calendar before purchase. Six Flags currently lists safari tickets separately from theme-park admission, with processing fees and taxes added, and says all guests taller than 36 inches require a ticket unless access is included with a season pass.

Eligible military visitors should bring a valid United States military ID or proof of veteran status to the front gate on November 14 or 15. The complimentary offer covers one single-day admission ticket; discounted companion tickets and other year-round military offers use separate online ID.me verification.

Do not assume every coaster remains available during the transition between fall and holiday operations. Check the park calendar and ride-status information on the day of travel, especially if a specific attraction is the main reason for the visit.

Holiday in the Park starts for the public November 21, while November 20 is a season-passholder preview. Current ticket pages show that general admission covers most rides, light displays and live shows, but parking, food, merchandise, selected experiences, taxes and processing fees may be separate.

About the Location

Six Flags Great Adventure is in Jackson Township, New Jersey, near Interstate 195 between the New York and Philadelphia markets. Jackson's municipal master plan dates the complex's opening to July 1, 1974, while Six Flags lists the theme park, Wild Safari and Hurricane Harbor New Jersey as separate attractions on the same destination campus.

Wild Safari covers 350 acres and houses more than 1,200 animals from six continents, according to the operator. That scale makes the November 8 closing more than a routine ride shutdown: it ends the destination's wildlife component for the year while the theme park shifts from fall operations to its holiday schedule.
