Dome Fire Update, October 1, 2026 (morning)
October 1, 2026 · Source: National Park Service
The fire grew 192 acres since yesterday morning, partly from planned backfiring operations. It is 40% contained. Firing operations continue near Glacier Point Road and the Bridalveil Creek Trail. Crews carefully burn dry brush and fallen trees. This adds some acres, but it builds stronger control lines and keeps firefighters safer.
