On December 6, 2024 a hiker at the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site observed the remains of a woman lying face down near the east shore of the Hudson River south of Bard Rock.
The National Park Service (NPS) is proposing to increase the entrance fee at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site and Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site to support projects that benefit visitors and protect park resources. The increased fee revenue will allow the parks to address preservation needs of the homes, which is critical to ensuring the continued enjoyment and long-term preservation of these significant sites.
