Proposed Entrance Fee Increase

The National Park Service (NPS) is proposing to increase the entrance fee at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site and Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site to support projects that benefit visitors and protect park resources. The increased fee revenue will allow the parks to address preservation needs of the homes, which is critical to ensuring the continued enjoyment and long-term preservation of these significant sites.

Human Rights Day Expo to Take Place at Roosevelt Sites

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site and Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site, along with the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will host a Human Rights Day Expo on Dec. 10, 2023. Events will begin at 10 a.m. at the Henry A. Wallace Center in Hyde Park.

NPS to Re-Issue Request for Proposals for Hyde Park Drive-In

After issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) in February, 2023 to lease, operate, and maintain the Hyde Park Drive-In Movie Theatre, the National Park Service has received valuable feedback and suggestions from interested applicants. To increase the competiveness of the opportunity, and to reduce the restrictions initially outlined in the RFP, the National Park Service has closed the RFP and will re-announce a revised Request later this summer.

Hyde Park to Host U.S. Mint Quarter Event

On June 8, the community of Hyde Park will be hosting the launch of a new Eleanor Roosevelt quarter. As part of the U.S. Mint’s American Women Quarters Program, the new quarter celebrates the life and legacy of Eleanor as a first lady, author, civil liberties advocate, and chairperson of the United Nations Human Rights commission.

This landmark venue, in operation since 1950, has served as an outdoor movie venue consistently since that time. See the full announcement with attachments and apply at sam.gov.
