Fort Frederica will reopen to the public on Saturday, October 12, 2024, after being closed since August 25, because of the effects of Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
The Visitor Center will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and there will be no public programming. The grounds will remain open 9 am – 5 pm, seven days a week for people to explore. The Visitor Center will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 am – 5 pm.

St. Simons Island, GA: The National Park Service at Fort Frederica National Monument is pleased to announce the details of the 2024 Fort Frederica Colonial Days Festival which occurs on March 23, 2024. This annual event commemorates the founding of Frederica in 1736 and provides a wonderful opportunity for Frederica’s visitors to actively participate in the history of the site and of colonial Georgia. Admission is free.
