Cumberland Island National Seashore has finalized a new Visitor Use Management Plan that amends the 1984 General Management Plan and establishes clear, adaptive strategies for visitor access, recreation and resource protection to this historic and ecologically rich barrier island.

Gia Wagner has been the Superintendent of Andersonville National Historic Site since 2020. Her strong background in natural and cultural resources, partnerships, and compliance and will be an asset to both parks.
ST. MARYS, Ga. – Cumberland Island National Seashore provides the public with an opportunity to hunt within the Wilderness six times per year. Registration information can be found on the park website at Managed Hunts - Cumberland Island National Seashore (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov). The Park will accept on-line registrations beginning July 1st and continue until the quotas have been reached. The number of hunts one can register for is not limited. Registration will close 3 days prior to each hunt.

All campers, visitors, staff, and volunteers must depart the island by 5:00 pm on August 28, 2023. The last boat departing the island is at 4:45 pm from the Sea Camp dock.
