The National Park Service (NPS) today announced the selection of Steve Theus as the new superintendent for Little River Canyon National Preserve and Russell Cave National Monument in Alabama, effective May 5.
Following guidance from the CDC and recommendations from state and local public health authorities in consultation with NPS Public Health Service Officers, Russell Cave National Monument visitor center is temporarily closed as of March 18, 2020. The park grounds, including the walk to the cave, and the 1.2-mile hiking trail will remain open to provide healthy options for the public.
