Wisconsin licensing agency directs callers online during phone outage

Staff Writer · 2026-10-04

Wisconsin's Department of Safety and Professional Services says its phone lines are experiencing problems and directs credential holders and applicants to submit support tickets through LicensE while service is restored.

The Department of Safety and Professional Services posted the service notice on October 1. The agency has not provided a restoration time, so people who need help with professional credentials should not assume phone service is available before trying to call.

To request assistance, go to license.wi.gov, sign in if you already have an account and select Request Support from the blue banner at the top of the page. The DSPS site separately links to LicensE for credential applications, renewals and credential management, and to eSLA for permits and plan reviews.

The notice changes the support channel, not licensing requirements or existing deadlines. Applicants and license holders should continue to follow dates shown in their own account or official notice and keep confirmation of any online support request.
