Charleston’s Daniel Boone Park parking lot remains subject to paving closure

Staff Writer · 2026-10-15 · Charleston

Charleston’s official notice says Daniel Boone Park’s parking lot closed at 9 p.m. on October 13 for paving beginning October 14. The work is expected to take two to three days, depending on weather; the city’s event listing runs through October 16.

The notice concerns the parking lot. It does not describe a closure of every part of Daniel Boone Park or identify an alternative parking area. Visitors should not assume that a park destination has its usual vehicle access while the paving restriction remains in place.

The city required vehicles to leave before the October 13 closure and warned that vehicles remaining the next morning would be towed. That removal time has passed. The notice does not provide a separate towing-inquiry number or establish new parking permissions nearby.

The two-to-three-day estimate is weather-dependent. Although the listing has an October 16 end date, its written notice says the lot remains closed during the work. It should not be read as a guarantee that paving or reopening will occur at a particular clock time.
