Loudoun opens comments on two draft water-pollution plans through October 28

Staff Writer · 2026-10-15 · Loudoun County

Loudoun County is accepting comments until October 28, 2026, on draft stormwater action plans for local waterways and the Chesapeake Bay. The local draft addresses sediment in Goose Creek and Bull Run and bacteria in Bull Run and Sugarland Run; both drafts describe progress and planned pollution-reduction measures.

The October 14 notice concerns two draft plans under the county’s municipal storm-sewer permit. A total maximum daily load sets a waterbody’s pollution limit; the county’s assigned share is its wasteload allocation. The local update and the Chesapeake Bay Phase III update explain how county stormwater management is intended to meet those requirements.

Residents and other interested parties can read both drafts at loudoun.gov/StormwaterPlan and send comments to the Stormwater Management Program using the page’s email link or by calling 703-777-0117. The announcement specifies October 28 but gives no cutoff hour or time zone. No end-of-day deadline has been invented for the tracker.

This is an opportunity to comment on the plans, not confirmation that every proposed measure has been built or that a new charge has been imposed on households. This article covers the county’s comment notice and current submission page, not an independent technical assessment of the full draft plans.
