Wasatch Front highway closures affect October 3–23 travel

Staff Writer · 2026-10-03

UDOT scheduled an overnight southbound I-15 closure in Davis County beginning October 3, daily I-84 lane closures through October 17, and several Salt Lake County ramp closures expected to run about 20 days from October 6.

Southbound I-15 is scheduled to close between 200 North in Kaysville and Park Lane in Farmington, exits 328 to 324, from 10 p.m. Saturday, October 3, until 6 a.m. Sunday, October 4. UDOT says crews will stripe lanes and install overhead signs for the Shepard Lane Improved project.

Eastbound I-84 near the mouth of Weber Canyon is also scheduled for daily lane closures from 10 p.m. October 3 through October 17 while crews prepare for a traffic shift. Drivers should expect congestion and slower trucks on the grade.

Beginning at 4 a.m. October 6, ramps connecting eastbound I-80, northbound I-215, westbound SR-201 and Redwood Road are scheduled to close for approximately 20 days. Separate California Avenue and Redwood Road ramp restrictions remain in effect, including a long-term Redwood Road-to-northbound-I-215 closure through July 2027. All schedules are weather-dependent, so travelers should verify conditions on the official UDOT Traffic site or app before leaving.
