These are proposals for how individual parks will operate, not announcements that every proposed change has been adopted. The plans address conservation, visitor services, facilities and day-to-day management. Residents can review each plan on the department’s Bureau of Conservation planning page or request it from liz.campbell@tn.gov.
Johnsonville and Henry Horton each have meetings on October 19, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Central time, at their visitor centers. Hiwassee Scenic River’s meeting is October 22 at its visitor center, during the same hours in Eastern time. Other park meetings continue into December; consult the official schedule for locations and times.
Participants can speak at a meeting or send written feedback using the form linked in the release. The December 31 closing date is confirmed, but no cutoff hour or time zone is given. Check the current park notice before attending, especially if arrangements change.
