The Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee selected the 24 contest blocks from about 6,600 blocks registered with its volunteer block-captain network. Judges will evaluate organization, cleanliness, improvements and resident participation using the dates and block-by-block times published in the city's official notice.
The city lists prizes of $1,000 for first place, $700 for second, $500 for third and $300 for fourth. Each remaining contest block is scheduled to receive $150, and all prize money must be used for worthwhile clean-block projects.
This notice announces judging for blocks already selected for the 2026 contest; it does not open a new contest application period. Residents interested in joining the broader block-captain program may contact the Philadelphia More Beautiful Committee at 215-685-3981 or use the program link in the city's release.
