Oklahoma tree grants: check the project rules before the October 23 cutoff

Staff Writer · 2026-10-14

Oklahoma Forestry Services is offering $5,000–$50,000 community-forestry grants to local governments, tribal entities, nonprofits and educational institutions. The application packet requires receipt by October 23, 2026, at 5 p.m., labeled “CST,” and limits this cycle to projects benefiting identified communities in need.

Match-free funding does not mean unrestricted eligibility. All project benefits must reach areas identified through the OFS assessment tool. Informal neighborhood or civic groups need a nonprofit or local-government partner; applicants need both a federal employer ID and a Unique Entity Identifier.

Submit the signed application, budget worksheet, state W-9 and proposal package to Riley.coy@ag.ok.gov or OFS, 2800 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73105. The packet rejects postmark-only and partial submissions and asks applicants to obtain email confirmation. Review the full packet at https://ag.ok.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/2026-Request-for-Applications.pdf.

Approved projects cannot begin before a fully executed purchase order. Payments reimburse documented costs rather than providing advance cash. Before relying on the cutoff, confirm the intended timezone with administrator Riley Coy at 580-231-1770; no precise tracker timestamp has been inferred from the packet’s “CST” label.
