Queens drivers face overnight Clearview-to-LIE ramp closures

Staff Writer · 2026-10-04 · Queens

NYSDOT plans overnight closures of one Exit 4E ramp at a time from the Clearview Expressway to the eastbound Long Island Expressway in Queens from October 5 through October 18.

The closures support bridge painting and steel repairs and are scheduled from Monday, October 5, through Sunday, October 18. NYSDOT says only one Exit 4E ramp—from either northbound or southbound Clearview Expressway—will close on a given evening.

The planned hours are 11 p.m. to about 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights, 11 p.m. Friday to about 7 a.m. Saturday, and 11 p.m. Saturday to about 9 a.m. Sunday. Drivers heading to the eastbound Long Island Expressway should allow extra time and follow the posted detour.

The schedule is weather-dependent and may change with conditions. NYSDOT directs travelers to 511NY for current information; the advisory does not identify which of the two ramps will close on each individual night.
