Nashua-area households: prepare for November 7 hazardous-waste collection

Staff Writer · 2026-10-14 · Nashua and participating communities

The City of Nashua's 2026 household hazardous-waste notice lists a November 7 collection from 8 a.m. to noon at 25 Crown Street. The event serves Nashua and ten named neighboring communities, with a $20 vehicle fee for up to 10 gallons or 20 pounds. The regional organizer confirms the date and location.

This is an upcoming event in the city's schedule published April 3, not a newly announced collection. Eligible residents are from Nashua, Amherst, Brookline, Hollis, Hudson, Litchfield, Merrimack, Milford, Mont Vernon, Pelham and Windham. The regional schedule identifies the site as Nashua Park & Ride.

The city lists oil-based paint, pesticides, varnish, wood preservatives, thinners, pool chemicals, antifreeze, lithium and button batteries, and driveway sealers among accepted materials. Latex paint, used oil, asbestos and smoke detectors are excluded from the city's notice. For those items, contact Nashua Solid Waste at 603-589-3410 about a different disposal route.

The regional organizer says containers larger than five gallons require advance registration at 603-417-6570 and additional quantities carry extra charges. Small businesses must register at least two weeks before an event and pay costs based on the waste involved; they should not assume the household fee applies. Confirm any unusual item or excess quantity before transporting it.

The city notice and organizer's current schedule remain the sources for changes: https://www.nashuanh.gov/m/newsflash/home/detail/1098 and https://nashuarpc.org/planning_services/household_hazardous_waste_collection/index.php. Neither page specifies a timezone for the event hours. No inferred registration cutoff or timezone has been added to the deadline tracker.
