The free event drew more than 640 students, chaperones and sponsors, including about 500 high school juniors, seniors and recent graduates. Participants met employers and college representatives and used CareerPathway.com to explore internships, scholarships and jobs in Nebraska.
The Nebraska Department of Economic Development says students submitted more than 300 applications for career opportunities during the summit. Several students also received scholarships from the Barrientos Scholarship Foundation totaling $20,000, while Troy Dannen and Fred Hoiberg spoke about career development and mentorship.
The 2026 summit has ended, so this announcement does not open another student application period or promise a job or scholarship to every participant. Organizations interested in the 2027 summit may submit the prospective-sponsor survey linked by the state; the release gives no sponsor deadline, and no deadline tracker entry was inferred.
