Baltimore lists downtown lane closures through October 17

Staff Writer · 2026-10-12 · Baltimore

Baltimore City scheduled a mix of weekday and around-the-clock downtown lane closures for October 12–16, with work on Light and Pratt streets extending into late October 17; all times are approximate and weather-dependent.

Weekday 9 a.m.–3 p.m. restrictions include the left lane of Guilford Avenue between East Lexington and East Fayette streets, the right lane of Baltimore Street east of Howard Street, and the right lane of Cross Street at Light Street. Full-time lane closures are listed on East Fayette Street between Guilford Avenue and Holliday Street, Charles Street between Pratt and Lombard streets, and Lombard Street between Light and Charles streets.

The southbound left lane of Light Street next to the median is scheduled to close between Pratt and Conway streets from 10 a.m. Thursday, October 15, until late Saturday, October 17. Pratt Street is scheduled to close from Charles to Light streets beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, October 16, and continuing until late Saturday.

The city describes the schedule as tentative, weather-dependent and not comprehensive of every downtown road project. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians should follow posted controls and check live navigation before traveling; the notice does not promise status updates or exact reopening times.
