Iowa schedules free Harvest Festival at the Capitol

Staff Writer · 2026-10-13 · Des Moines

America’s Harvest Festival is scheduled for October 24 on the Iowa State Capitol grounds in Des Moines, with free admission, concerts, opening ceremonies and more than 70 expected exhibitors and organizations.

Governor Kim Reynolds announced the statewide event on October 13. The festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, from 1 to 7:30 p.m. on the Iowa State Capitol grounds, with opening ceremonies at 2 p.m. The announcement describes general admission and the country-music concert as free.

The Band Perry and LANCO are scheduled to headline, along with two Iowa-based country acts. The state says more than 70 exhibitors, businesses and organizations are expected to offer agricultural displays, historical experiences, a fall marketplace, food and family activities. The release does not publish individual performance times beyond the opening ceremony.

Residents planning to attend should use the linked festival website for the current entertainment schedule, participating organizations and any later visitor guidance. The announcement does not require registration for general admission and does not state that food or marketplace purchases are free. The Governor’s Office lists Hy-Vee as presenting sponsor, with Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, Fareway and the Iowa State Fair among other sponsors.
