The October 13 announcement says Med-Mizer will add machinery and equipment and retrofit its existing 40,000-square-foot operation at 80 Commerce Drive. The company expects the project to increase production of hospital beds and patient-handling equipment used in health-care and home-care settings.
Med-Mizer says it has begun recruiting for manufacturing, engineering, technical support, quality, shipping and customer-service positions. The release describes as many as 73 jobs over the coming years and says the average wage is expected to equal 134% of the Ripley County average, but it does not publish individual pay ranges, an application link or a hiring deadline.
The expansion is also intended to support a five-year Department of Veterans Affairs contract that Med-Mizer is fulfilling through DiSorb Systems for at-home hospital beds and related equipment. The announced job total is a projection rather than completed hiring, and the release gives no construction-completion date or public incentive package. Prospective applicants should confirm current openings and qualifications directly with the company.
