The Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources says applications for the 2027 Lānaʻi axis deer season will become available Monday, October 12. Hunters should use the Go Hunt Hawaii portal, select the Apply for Hunts option and follow the state's verification and application instructions.
The season is organized into archery, youth, muzzleloader and general-rifle groups. Lottery selection may apply to all four hunt groups. The state may also offer standby opportunities for archery, muzzleloader and general-rifle hunts, depending on the number of applications received.
DLNR says one or more draws or weekends could be eliminated if application levels for the archery or general-rifle seasons are lower than anticipated. Applicants should therefore rely on the portal and DLNR hunting page for final schedules and selection notices.
The announcement does not identify an application closing date, fee schedule or exact hunt weekends. No deadline was added to the tracker because an official date and time were not provided. Hunters needing help may contact the appropriate DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife island office listed in the state release.
