Mayville Engineering Company plans to refurbish an existing building at 1048 Superior Way in Thomson for a metal-fabrication plant. The company expects to invest an estimated $26 million over several years and create approximately 140 jobs in McDuffie County. Renovations and equipment installation will be phased in, with workforce growth expected to begin during 2026.
The company identified prospective work in management, administrative support, technical positions, production operations, maintenance and quality control. People interested in the jobs should use MEC's careers page and confirm openings directly with the company.
The announcement does not provide a facility opening date, detailed hiring schedule, pay ranges or public incentive amount. Georgia's economic-development agency worked on the project with the McDuffie County Development Authority and Georgia Quick Start. Residents and local officials should watch those organizations and MEC for construction milestones and specific recruiting notices.
