The sites are at Jack McLean Community Center, 700 Paul Russell Road; Mike Blankenship Skate Park, 2909 Jackson Bluff Road; and the Northwood parcel, 1940 North Monroe Street. The city said all three would be open by 9 a.m. on October 8.
Households may take no more than 25 bags. Residents must fill their own bags and should bring shovels. Staffing to replenish the supplies is scheduled between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.; the city has not set a fixed closing date and says the locations will remain open until the storm threat has passed and they are no longer needed.
The notice says localized flooding, fallen trees and power outages are possible, but the exact location, duration and severity of impacts remain uncertain. Residents should not drive through flooded roads or around barricades and should continue checking current city and Leon County emergency information.
City utility customers can report outages through the DigiTally app, the city outage website or 850-891-4968. The sandbag notice is a preparedness measure, not a guarantee that a particular neighborhood will flood.
