Tallahassee dog swims return October 24–25; bring health records

Staff Writer · 2026-10-15 · Tallahassee

Tallahassee’s October 14 notice schedules the 20th Puppies in the Pool for October 24–25, 2026, at Trousdell Aquatics Center. Admission costs $4.75 per person and per dog, with advance registration encouraged. Dogs must meet age and health requirements, and people cannot enter the activity pool.

Register through Talgov.com/Parks or at the center, 298 John Knox Road. Capacity is limited. Dogs must be at least six months old, spayed or neutered, and accompanied by current health records covering rabies, Bordetella, DAPP/DA2PP/DHPP vaccination and a negative fecal test within the previous year.

The notice assigns dogs under 40 pounds to 1–2 p.m. Larger-dog sessions begin at 9:15, 10:30 and 11:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.; Saturday adds 3:30 p.m. Dogs must remain supervised and leashed outside the pool.

The city’s older activity page still advertises the 19th annual event with different dates. Use the October 14 notice and confirm the session with 850-891-4901, especially for a dog weighing exactly 40 pounds: the new notice specifies only over and under 40. It supplies no registration cutoff.
