The Delaware Department of Elections set Saturday, October 10, as the registration deadline for the November 3 general election. Online registration remains available through 11:59 p.m. at iVote.de.gov. A paper application must be postmarked by October 10.
County election offices will also accept in-person registrations from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on October 10. The department says applicants should bring a Delaware driver's license or state identification card, or another current government, payroll, bank or utility document showing their name and address.
To register, a person must be a United States citizen, treat Delaware as their home, and be at least 18 by the November 3 election. The state also lists restrictions involving current felony sentences, specified disqualifying felonies and a court finding of mental incompetence; residents with questions should use the department's voter FAQ or contact their county election office.
The practical cutoff depends on the method selected: in-person service ends at 4:30 p.m., mailed forms need an October 10 postmark, and the online system remains available until 11:59 p.m. Keeping a submission confirmation or mailing record can help if a registration-status question arises later.
