Saturday trash drop-off unavailable during Fayetteville drain repairs

Staff Writer · 2026-10-15 · Fayetteville

Fayetteville will close its transfer station at 1560 S. Happy Hollow Road beginning October 17, 2026, for drain repairs. The city's October 14 notice schedules a return to regular operations on Monday, October 19.

Residents and private haulers should plan around the missed Saturday drop-off period. Normal transfer-station hours are 7 a.m.–2 p.m. on weekdays and 7–10 a.m. on Saturdays; loads must be unloaded before closing.

The announcement concerns the transfer station, not a change to curbside collection. Recycling drop-off sites accept only their listed recyclable materials and are not substitutes for ordinary trash disposal. The city's facilities page explains accepted materials and disposal arrangements.

For operational questions, contact Recycling and Trash Collection at 479-575-8398. The reopening is the city's announced plan; no later amendment was found in the checked municipal news and media-room listings.
