Phoenix-area freeway closures continue through Monday morning

Staff Writer · 2026-10-04

ADOT has scheduled several Phoenix-area freeway closures, lane reductions and ramp restrictions through 5 a.m. Monday, October 5, for widening, paving, bridge and pavement projects.

Westbound Loop 101 is closed from 51st to 75th avenues, westbound Loop 202 is closed from Arizona Avenue to Loop 101, northbound State Route 51 is closed from Interstate 10 to Indian School Road, and westbound Loop 303 is closed from Interstate 17 to 43rd Avenue. Those closures are scheduled to end at 5 a.m. Monday, October 5.

Other restrictions include lane reductions on southbound Loop 101 between McKellips Road and Loop 202 and between Princess Drive/Pima Road and Shea Boulevard. State Route 347 is narrowed to one lane in each direction between Casa Blanca Road and Mammoth Way. ADOT lists detours for each full closure in its advisory.

Drivers should allow extra travel time, follow posted detours and check AZ511 immediately before leaving because conditions can change. The release also lists several ramp closures, including ramps connecting Interstate 17 and Loop 202 with the affected freeway segments.
