ADECA’s October 14 release identifies the award as federal Community Development Block Grant funding administered by the state. The county’s contribution is separate from Lockheed Martin’s planned $35 million–$50 million investment. Rex Lumber and Universal Precast are also expected to benefit from the infrastructure work.
For households, the announcement concerns a public water-system upgrade, not a cash benefit or an application for individual assistance. ADECA expects better service for nearby residents but does not give a construction start, completion date or customer-service changeover schedule.
The release projects 300 additional jobs from the manufacturer’s expansion; it does not announce that those positions have been filled or provide hiring instructions. Residents and businesses still need subsequent project notices for construction impacts, while job applicants need the employer’s actual vacancy announcements.
