Does that mean all movements through the intersection are open?
The governor’s notice says motorists cannot yet cross on Mastin Lake Road beneath the overpass or make left turns at that intersection. Huntsville’s later notice also says the underpass remains under construction, so the opening announcement does not establish that every local crossing or turn is available.

When is the remaining work expected to finish?
The October 16 city update anticipates completion before Thanksgiving, while the governor’s October 15 release had anticipated an intersection reopening later in October. These are dated estimates from different notices, and neither checked release confirms actual completion. This guide does not assign a firm reopening date.

What does the project include?
The governor’s office describes a $34 million project extending the Memorial Parkway expressway and improving the corridor toward Winchester Road. Rogers Group Inc. began construction in June 2023; the overpass carries six lanes above Mastin Lake Road.

What conditions should drivers expect while work continues?
The state notice describes final paving, possible temporary lane closures and uneven surfaces where the mainline, ramps and frontage roads connect. ALDOT advises reduced speeds and caution because the corridor remains a work zone in that announcement.
