VDACS Announces 2026 Pesticide Collection Program Dates and Collection Sites
Farmers and firms in Northeast Virginia can drop off unused pesticides
Richmond, Va. – Farmers, pesticide dealers, pest control firms, certified applicators, homeowners, and golf course operators are encouraged to participate in the 2026 Virginia Pesticide Collection Program. The program collects unwanted, outdated, or banned pesticides, at no cost to eligible participants, and disposes of them in a safe manner.
The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ (VDACS) Office of Pesticide Services oversees the program, in partnership with Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services. The program has collected and destroyed more than 2 million pounds of outdated and unwanted pesticides since its inception, and is funded through pesticide fees collected by VDACS.
VDACS’ Pesticide Collection Program rotates through five regions in the state, conducting a collection annually in a different region.
