Release date: November 2, 2026

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) invites members of the public, stakeholders and industry to comment and provide feedback on the 2027 Wisconsin State Freight Plan. WisDOT updates this plan every four years to ensure it accurately reflects, considers and addresses the state’s current and future freight needs. Public engagement is a critical component of transportation planning. WisDOT strives to review and consider comments and feedback from Wisconsinites and all affected stakeholders through the statewide transportation planning process. The feedback helps WisDOT integrate freight considerations into its policies and guide future freight-related investment decisions to ensure Wisconsin remains competitive in the global marketplace.

The public comment period will be open for 30 days (November 2 - December 1, 2026).
