Dear State Employees:

As we approach Nevada Day, I want to take a moment to thank you for your hard work and dedication to the Silver State. As state employees, you are the backbone of the services we provide to Nevadans. Much of the work you do happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in communities across our state every day.

As Nevadans, we take pride in our communities, our independence, and our heritage. Whether in our rural or urban communities, we share a commitment to our state's success and prosperity. As public servants, your work ensures that these values continue to endure for generations to come.

Over the past several years, state employees across agencies have worked together to tackle some of Nevada's biggest challenges and improve the services we provide. We have worked side by side to advance important initiatives, address some of our state’s most pressing issues, and improve the lives of Nevadans. This work included supporting efforts to increase access to attainable housing for Nevada families, expanding educational opportunities and strengthening accountability, working to make our neighborhoods safer, and improving healthcare access, including in rural communities.

That work continues today as employees across our agencies are finding ways to better serve Nevadans. Our state's recent recognition earning an A grade in the 2026 Digital States Survey for modernizing our technology and improving public services is one example of what can happen when dedicated public servants work together to solve problems and improve how government operates.

There is always more work to do, but I want you to know that I recognize and appreciate the effort you put in every day. The progress we have made is the result of people across state government working together to serve our fellow Nevadans. It is an honor to work alongside you, and I am grateful for the time, care, and dedication you bring to your jobs.

Thank you again for your continued service to our great state. Happy Nevada Day!

With Sincere Gratitude,

Joe Lombardo

Governor of Nevada
