Louisiana State Police said a 36-year-old Lockport motorcyclist died after a pickup truck turned across the motorcycle’s path on Louisiana Highway 308 north of U.S. Highway 90 shortly after 6 a.m. October 12. The preliminary investigation says the motorcyclist’s helmet was not properly secured, while the pickup driver was restrained, uninjured and showed no signs of impairment; toxicology testing for the motorcyclist is pending, and the crash remains under investigation.
