Gov. Reynolds issues statement following October 2026 REC meeting
Friday, October 16, 2026
Press Release
Governor Kim Reynolds issued the following statement following today’s October meeting of the Revenue Estimating Conference (REC):
“Iowa’s latest revenue projections reflect a strong and stable financial outlook. Upward adjustments since March signal improved economic activity and revenue conditions statewide, pointing to Iowa’s economic resiliency.
“During fiscal year 2027, new General Fund receipts are projected to grow to $8.54 billion, an increase of 2.8 percent over last year. Fiscal Year 2028 is projected to see an increase of 3.4 percent, and a higher total revenue of $8.83 billion.
“For nearly ten years, my administration and the Republican-led legislature have prioritized the type of fiscal responsibility and conservative, pro-growth policies that generate measurable results. Today, Iowa’s economy is well positioned to sustain growth, maintain stability, and continue to invest in the priorities Iowans value most.”
