FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

HONOLULU — The Hawaiʻi Department of Health (DOH) is pleased to announce the launch of the Hawai‘i Tobacco Quitline mobile app, called Quitlogix. The app is a new evidence-based and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-compliant resource that makes it easier than ever for adults to access free tobacco cessation support, directly from their smartphone.
Services provided through the app are the same as the Hawai‘i Tobacco Quitline online program, with the advantage of biometric login capability and push notifications to smartphones. The Quitlogix app is available for download through the Apple App Store and Google Play starting today.
“The way people access healthcare continues to evolve and our tobacco cessation services must evolve with it,” said Leslie Yap, Hawai‘i Tobacco Quitline coordinator. “The app provides flexible, personalized support that meets people where they are, making it more convenient for Hawai‘i residents to access proven tools that can help them quit for good.”
The launch reflects the department’songoing commitment to expanding access to evidence-based tobacco treatment services and reducing barriers that prevent people from successfully quitting. Research consistently shows that individuals who use evidence-based cessation support, including behavioral counseling and digital tools, are significantly more likely to quit successfully than those who attempt to quit without assistance.
Hawai‘i Tobacco Quitline services, including free nicotine patches, gum and lozenges and custom support to quit smoking, vaping, or other tobacco products, continue to be available by calling 1-800-QUIT-NOW or visiting HawaiiQuitline.org.
