What this means

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced low-interest disaster loans for eligible private nonprofit organizations in Alaska’s Lower Kuskokwim and Lower Yukon regional educational attendance areas and Northwest Arctic Borough after the October 8–13, 2025 storms, flooding and remnants of Typhoon Halong. Eligible noncritical nonprofits could seek up to $2 million for physical losses and separate working-capital loans, with possible mitigation increases of up to 20%; the release set December 22, 2025 as the physical-damage deadline and July 22, 2026 as the economic-injury deadline.
