’Tis the season to shop local: UDAF partners with Millcreek Common for 4th annual Utah’s Own Holiday Shoppes

Millcreek and Utah’s Own unwrap the magic of the season with the Utah’s Own Holiday Shoppes at Millcreek Common, open daily Nov. 1 – Dec. 24

For the fourth year in a row, the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food and Millcreek have partnered for the highly-anticipated Utah’s Own Holiday Shoppes at Millcreek Common. This one-of-a-kind seasonal market brings together more than 50 local vendors from across the state, featuring 100% Utah-grown and crafted specialty foods, agricultural goods, and artisan treasures for a truly magical holiday experience.

Utah’s Own is a UDAF program that supports and promotes Utah’s agriculture and food businesses to fuel regional economic growth.

“This market is the best holiday shopping experience Utah has to offer,” Utah’s Own Program Manager Emily Ashby said. “Visitors can shop for locally grown, produced and hand-crafted gifts at the beautiful indoor Public Market venue at Millcreek Common, and then step outside to ice skate, rock climb or grab a warm drink. It’s the perfect opportunity to create a lasting memory while supporting Utah’s local businesses.”

The festive seasonal marketplace opens Sunday, Nov. 1 and will remain open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. until Dec. 24. The indoor Public Market at Millcreek Common is located on the first floor of Millcreek City Hall at 1330 E. Chambers Ave. in Millcreek.

This year’s gift options include locally-made sweets and seasonal treats, high-quality seasonings and savory-cured meats, fresh and nutritious pet treats, handmade soaps and relaxing spa products, and dozens of other local products. The Utah’s Own Holiday Shoppes connects residents and tourists with unique Utah-sourced products from local businesses.

“We are proud that Utah’s Own Holiday Shoppes has earned national recognition as an innovative way for shoppers to support local food makers and farmers,” Millcreek Common Public Marketing Manager Lacy Gill said. “This season, as we consider spreading joy and gratitude with the people we love, buying local is one of the simplest ways to give back. Every purchase at The Shoppes makes a real difference to these small Utah businesses and our whole community.”

During the Utah’s Own Holiday Shoppes, the market will also hold three special events to help shoppers to get into the holiday spirit:

Friday, Nov. 20, from 6-8 p.m.: A Grateful Get Together will offer samples from participating businesses and opportunities to find inspiration to set your holiday table. Ice skating, Nigerian dwarf goats, and the annual tree lighting will make the evening bright.

Saturday, Nov. 28: Utah’s Own Holiday Shoppes will support Small Business Saturday. Make a special visit to the market that day to shop local.

Dec. 1-12: Participate in the second annual 12 Days of Christmas. Every purchase at the Utah’s Own Holiday Shoppes will be entered to win one of three gift baskets from participating businesses in the market.
