New York State Police said a preliminary investigation found that a 2025 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Pankaj R. Bakshi, 50, of Floral Park had stopped in the left northbound lane of Interstate 95 near mile marker 14.8 in Port Chester when another Suburban struck it at about 5:55 a.m. October 12. Bakshi was pronounced dead at Greenwich Hospital after lifesaving efforts, while the other driver was treated for minor injuries and released.
