Today, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) awarded Rise Baking Company, LLC a post-performance tax reduction for its expansion in Weber County, supporting the company’s continued investment in its Pleasant View manufacturing facility and increased production capabilities. The corporate incentive is part of the state’s Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (EDTIF) program.
Under the agreement, Rise Baking Company projects adding 31 new, high-paying jobs and investing over $22 million in Utah over the next 10 years.
“Targeted growth in advanced manufacturing remains vital to building a balanced and resilient economy across Utah,” said GOED Commissioner Jefferson Moss. “Rise Baking Company’s capital investment in Weber County expands our production capacity, strengthens regional supply chain logistics, and provides stable, high-paying jobs for local residents over the next decade.”
Rise Baking Company is a leading North American bakery manufacturer serving in-store bakery and foodservice customers and home to some of the baking industry’s most trusted brands. The company operates over 20 facilities across North America and employs nearly 4,000 people, offering a diverse portfolio across 13 product categories, including cookies, cakes, muffins and pies. With a focus on quality, innovation, and customer partnership, Rise delivers bakery solutions that help customers meet evolving consumer needs and make life’s special moments even more enjoyable. Earlier this year, Rise announced an expansion of its Pleasant View facility to increase production capabilities and support the company’s continued growth.
“Our continued investment in Pleasant View reflects the important role this facility plays in Rise’s long-term growth strategy,” said Mark McNeil, CEO of Rise Baking Company. “Expanding our capabilities here will help us better serve our customers, strengthen our manufacturing network, and position the business for continued growth. We value our partnership with the state of Utah and Weber County and the opportunity to create additional jobs and contribute to the continued growth of the local community.”
