Harrisburg, PA - Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity today announced the next opportunity for Pennsylvanians to bid on unclaimed property will take place online on Wednesday, Oct. 28 where about 6,000 items will be featured including jewelry, coins, currency and precious metals.
“Our next unclaimed property auction is a few weeks away and we’re already excited for the fantastic items Pennsylvanians will have the opportunity to bid on. Our partners at Pook & Pook work closely with us to make sure our items are ready for auction and to go to successful bidders to help make room in Treasury’s vault.”

Since taking office, Treasurer Garrity has returned more than $1.2 billion in unclaimed property to Pennsylvanians, businesses, nonprofit organizations and local government agencies, including a record of over $334 million last year.
A few items of interest include:
Platinum ring with a 6.11 ct. round diamond and 38 single-cut diamonds;
14K yellow gold chain with slider charm with green stone and Gold-filled Waltham pocket watch, 29.6 dwt;
1907 S Liberty Head $20 gold coin with 22K mount, 28.3 dwt; and
18K yellow gold Omega wristwatch with 18K gold band, 43.7 dwt.

Those interested in participating in the auction can register to bid at pookandpook.com.
Items listed for auction are subject to change prior to the auction if new information regarding an item’s authenticity, estimated value or other discrepancies are discovered. Treasury employees and immediate family members are prohibited from bidding.
The proceeds from all items sold at auction are kept in perpetuity for a rightful owner to claim at any time.
Unclaimed property can be dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, forgotten stocks, insurance policies and more. Tangible property, like that being auctioned, most often comes to Treasury as the contents of abandoned safe deposit boxes.
Treasury is working to return more than $5 billion in unclaimed property owed to more than one in ten Pennsylvanians. The average claim is worth more than $1,000.
