Official release

On Thursday, August 20, Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, in coordination with local and federal partners, executed two search warrants in Limestone County related to Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).

The first search warrant was executed in the Swan Creek community in Tanner, located within Limestone County. This resulted in the arrest of Randall Dorian Register, 18, on ten counts of Possession of Obscene Material with Intent to Disseminate.

The second search warrant was executed in the Piney Chapel community off Pressnell Road, located within Limestone County. This resulted in the arrest of registered sex offender Clyde Norman Reneau III, 22, on two counts of Facilitating the Unlawful Sexual Contact with a Child and four counts of Electronic Solicitation of a Minor.

Both Register and Reneau were booked into the Limestone County Jail.

The Alabama ICAC Task Force consists of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies across the state that investigate and prosecute these crimes. ALEA would like to specifically recognize and thank the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Birmingham Office, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Huntsville Police Department for their assistance with this investigation. This investigation is the result of cyber tips provided by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
