What this means

Louisiana State Police reported that a 62-year-old New Port Richey, Florida, man died early October 4 after a 2008 Dodge Caravan struck him on U.S. Highway 84 near Radio Station Road in DeSoto Parish. The preliminary investigation says he was walking west in the eastbound lane and moved into the Dodge’s path; the driver, who police said was not wearing a seat belt, had minor injuries. Police suspect possible impairment by the pedestrian, not the driver, but said toxicology analyses are outstanding and the case remains open.
