Kentucky State Police Investigate Perry County Fatal Crash
BULAN, Ky (November 4, 2026) – On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at approximately 5:34 p.m., Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 13 in Hazard, received a call in reference to a two-vehicle collision on KY-80 in the Bulan community of Perry County.
Troopers, along with medical personnel responded to the scene. Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2023 Jeep Wrangler was traveling east bound on KY-80 when it crossed the raised median and into the west bound lane striking a 2015 Ford Mustang being operated by David Baisden, 36, of Hazard.
Baisden was pronounced deceased on scene by the Perry County Coroner’s Office. The operator of the Jeep was transported by Perry County EMS to Hazard A.R.H. where he was treated for non-life-threating injuries.
An autopsy has been scheduled and toxicology is pending. Seat belts were in use at the time of the collision. This incident remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by Trooper Charles Moore.
