On September 8, QuantrolOx, a University of Oxford spinout, announced the opening of its first U.S. office at UC Berkeley’s Roger Herst Quantum Nexus. QuantrolOx’s presence in Berkeley will bring its quantum engineering, R&D operations, high-skilled jobs, and commercialization activity to California, strengthening the state’s quantum technology ecosystem and its pipeline of next-generation engineering talent.

As the race to build quantum processors accelerates, hardware developers are hitting a different wall: tuning each qubit by hand doesn’t scale. QuantrolOx solves this not by building chips, but by automating the specialist engineering work every hardware developer needs to move from lab to production. Its Quantum EDGE platform provides the automation and measurement platform to accelerate hardware development, while its Quantum EDGE Academy develops the skilled workforce needed to scale the industry.
