A new application each season

Wyoming's family services department says winter energy-assistance applications are open from October 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027. Residents must apply again each heating season. The program helps with part of heating costs and specified emergencies; payments go to fuel vendors.

Income and emergency conditions

Wyoming households with income no higher than 60 percent of the state median can apply, including homeowners, renters and residents of permanently parked RVs. Starting October 1, crisis assistance requires at least one verifiable payment toward a primary or secondary utility within the preceding 60 days. The department says applicants who cannot document that payment are ineligible for crisis assistance.

Use the official application path

Follow the application link on the department's page below, or call 800-246-4221 for help applying by phone. Seasonal assistance will not pay bills from before October 1, 2026. Contact the program promptly about a shutoff or heating emergency, and confirm which documents your household needs.
