The settlement resolves alleged deceptive financing practices

The Tennessee Attorney General announced a $1,864,319.86 settlement with Aqua Finance on October 8, 2026. The state alleged that water-treatment dealers used deceptive practices while Aqua financed the transactions. The release describes that conduct as alleged and does not report a trial finding on the claims.

The final agreement assigns $1,564,319.86 to consumer debt cancellation and refunds and $300,000 to the state.

Affected consumers should receive direct notice

Aqua must notify covered consumers by mail or email within 15 business days of the settlement order. Within 30 business days, the company must issue refunds to eligible consumers who made payments after November 30, 2024, request deletion of covered debts from credit-reporting agencies and remove related UCC fixture filings.

Consumers should keep the notice and compare it with their account records. The attorney general’s release does not describe a public claim form, so recipients should verify questions through the official state announcement rather than pay a third party for help.
