The first application window is closing
Oklahoma public school districts have until 4 p.m. Central Time on October 8, 2026, to submit an FY27 Healthy Incentive Grant application through the TSET Funding Portal. The Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust says qualifying districts with 2,000 students or fewer may request up to $50,000; larger districts may request up to $80,000. No matching contribution is required.
Awards are not guaranteed. TSET says complete, eligible applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis while funding is available, and any award remains subject to board approval. Funding supports one project per award, such as physical-activity equipment, school gardens, hydration stations, cafeteria equipment, walking routes or safety and emergency-response equipment.
Eligibility requires more than a project idea
The district must appear on an applicable Oklahoma public or charter-school directory, serve students in person, operate from a district-owned brick-and-mortar facility in Oklahoma and remain in good standing with the Secretary of State and Tax Commission. Applicants also must certify that they do not accept tobacco-industry funding.
Required documentation includes adopted district wellness and 24/7 tobacco-free policies with proof of passage, records from two wellness-committee meetings held during the prior year, evidence of required health and tobacco-cessation promotion, a project plan and budget support. The official guide says missing required policies, documentation or the deadline can disqualify an application.
Use the district's portal account
Submit through the portal account registered to the applicant district, not a third party. TSET warns that a new portal registration can take as long as two business days and that last-minute account approval or technical help is not guaranteed. District staff should compare the complete submission against the FY27 resource guide before pressing submit.
A district that cannot complete this cycle can review the second FY27 window, scheduled for January 5 through February 4, 2027, with applications due at 4 p.m. Central Time on February 4. Requirements or available funding may change, so applicants should use the current TSET page and guide for that cycle.
